Examples of
Projects, Past and Present:
USB
to Parallel Bus Interface
This
was a
small interface board with PC software to enable a PC to control a bench
top instrument. The control boards of the instrument used a parallel bus
(16 bit data, 8 bit address, read, write and reset) for communication
and control. Compact Control Design Limited completed the contract on time, to cost and
this led to
significant further work.
Power
Supply
The
project was for a
power supply for a scientific instrument. The supply provides power
outputs to drive motors and valves and also provides very clean and very
stable power outputs to drive the analytical components of the
instrument. Compact Control Design Limited completed the contract on time, to cost and
this led to further work.
Wave
Tank Controller
This
project used our MonCon product range and PC based software. A number
of paddles in a wave tank required controlling. This was to enable waves to be
produced in a range of frequencies and intensities, to allow the customer
to test and evaluate the performance of various ocean going equipment.
Compact Control Design Limited completed the contract on time, to cost and further contracts are
expected as the customer progresses their project.
Automatic
Test Unit
Our
client has a number of backplane based circuit boards used in a number
of their products. These boards all require a functional test at the
manufacturers site and at the customers service department. We developed
a small desktop test unit and PC based software to implement
comprehensive functional tests for all boards required. The test unit
was based on our MonCon product range. The project was completed on time and to cost.
