MonCon

Compact Control Design Limited produces a range of MonCon systems. MonCon is a modular system designed to enable control and monitoring systems to be developed quickly and cost effectively. The concept is based on a backplane and function specific modules.

The backplane provides power, intercommunication and low cost connection to the equipment being controlled/monitored.

Many of the modules are function specific, e.g. the Stepper controller module includes all the functionality for driving stepper motors and for connecting to sensors, limit switches, encoders etc. The modules are also designed to simplify the wiring loom requirements by minimizing the number of joints required.

The modules shown here are a sample of the full range. Many of the modules in the range are designed to be tailored to the users requirements, e.g. the analogue input board has 16 input channels, each can be configured for a different voltage range and for bipolar or unipolar operation.

We appreciate that equipment manufacturers want to keep control of the critical parts of their products, so we are happy to allow customers to manufacture under license, we can also write all necessary software under contract to integrate the system into your equipment.

Backplanes

All MonCon modules plug into a backplane, it provides a means of connecting the module to other devices in the equipment, power distribution and communications between modules and any host.

We can also supply backplanes and/or manufacturing data for custom design backplanes.

P0608 6 Slot Backplane

We have a range of off-the-shelf backplanes with 4, 6 or 8 slots.

All backplanes include the following features -

  • PC style 4 pin power for +5V logic supply.

  • 3 pin rising clamp type connector block for drive power supply.

  • 34 pin 0.1 inch pitch connector per slot for input and output signals, sensors etc.

  • 24 pin 0.1 inch pitch connector per slot for power control outputs.

  • Additional connectors for linking backplanes.

Motor, Solenoid and Valve Controller Drivers

A range of modules designed to control and drive stepper motors, dc motors, valves, electro-magnets, relays, lights, etc. All modules include one or two powerful microcontrollers, driver stages and input signal processing to meet your requirements generally without additional components.
