Please email us at moncon485@compactcontrol.co.uk
for more details about the MonCon485 range, prices and delivery as this
web site is still under construction - sorry about that!
The MonCon485 range was designed to be flexible and easy to use,
consisting of a collection of modules, each with a PIC microcontroller
to enable the module to provide a great deal of functionality. All
modules support Modbus RTU and our own simple ASCII protocol, we can
supply firmware supporting Modbus ASCII or any other protocol, or you
can write your own firmware.
The modules all conform to a standard, they are all the same length,
all use Molex KK right angled headers for interconnection, enabling
interconnection by one of our backplanes or by use of ribbon
cable.
On
the left is an example of modules attached to a backplane. The backplane
provides an easy means of mounting several modules and provides
connectors for power supplies etc. and for interconnecting backplanes
where there are many modules.
The
modules can also be mounted in an enclosure and interconnected using IDT
ribbon cable.
All modules have standard requirements in terms of signals and power,
they all use RS485 to communicate and they all require a +5V power
supply. Some also require +12V and -12V power supplies and some of the
modules that drive loads such as motors also require suitable power
supplies for the motors.
The product range also includes modules that provide supporting
functionality-
P1023 power supply module. This module has a standard barrel
connector to enable a MonCon485 system to be powered by an
off-the-shelf mains adapter. It includes DC-DC converters to provide
the +5V, +12V and -12V supplies and the +DRIVE/-DRIVE supplies are
provided directly by the mains adapter voltage. P1023 has several
options to suit supply voltage and power requirements. It also
includes a 2.5mm jack socket for external connection to the RS485
signals.
Bus terminators and connectors. Several small boards are available
that enable the RS485 bus to be terminated, include a 2.5mm jack for
external connection to the RS485 signals and have connectors for
power.
USB to RS485 dongle. For applications where the MonCon485 system
is to be connected to a computer, or will be computer controlled,
this dongle provides an easy means of connection. The device uses
windows drivers and enumerates as a standard serial port, so any
software capable of serial communications can talk to the MonCon485
boards.
P0918 Controller with LCD/VFD compatible display interface, I/O
for keypads, 2x PS/2 and 2x USB host controller
Modules in development include the following-
Ethernet/USB. Includes a 100Mbit Ethernet controller, 64MB flash,
64K SPI RAM, battery backed RTC and a USB slave port, based on the
popular and widely supported PIC18 microcontroller.
4 channel complex waveform generator. Using 4 high speed D to A
converters and a programmable logic device with a large RAM, this
module is capable of generating any waveform from basic square,
sine, triangle through to very complex waveforms. The waveform can
be specified by formula or by loading the waveform RAM directly.
Available end of 2010/start of 2011
