With the P0604
Dual Stepper Motor Controller Driver each microcontroller
controls an Allegro A3967 stepper motor driver. This provides pulse
width modulation current mode control to the stepper motor. Most stepper
motors can be driven including bipolar and unipolar motors with 4, 6 or
8 wires. The motor drive current can be controlled directly by the
microcontroller.
Each
channel supports a number of sensors including optical, magnetic and
position encoders, each channel has the following inputs-
-
3
opto-isolated inputs generally for the home position and the 2 end
limit positions.
-
4
non-isolated inputs for use by 2 and 3 wire encoders and auxiliary
inputs such as position markers.
-
1
synchronization signal allowing multiple motors to be synchronized
enabling complex profile movements.
The
P0604 Dual Stepper Motor Controller Driver module is supplied
pre-programmed with a basic trapezoidal control algorithm allowing
speeds, acceleration/deceleration and ramp-down point to be set. The
algorithm uses the 3 opto-isolated inputs for home and end limit sensor
inputs. Optical and magnetic sensors are supported. Check our downloads
page for firmware for other applications.
The P0604
Dual Stepper Motor Controller Driver module has been designed to
ease the task of wiring. All motor drive signals can be connected
directly from the backplane to the motor in screened cable
without the need for splicing. The same also applies for many sensor
configurations. This reduces the cost and complexity of wiring looms and
increases reliability.
Compact
Control Design provide full programming support for the P0604 Dual
Stepper Motor Controller Driver (and all MonCon boards) with
linker scripts, header and include files and programming examples
enabling you to write your own custom applications in assembler and C.
We also provide a development service providing application firmware
to your specification.
